Thailand, in Southeast Asia, radiates culture with its many historical sites, distinctive cuisine, and friendly people. This course focuses on environmental and animal welfare, while exploring the diverse landscapes of Thailand and the culture of this exquisite country.
From exploring the ancient city of Chaing Mai and the jungles of Mae Tang, to snorkeling in Loh Samah Bay participants will experience the vast range of environments across the country. Participants will also work with animals at a rescue facility, helping rehabilitate and care for animals that are injured or ill. With our partners, we will work with a variety of animals, including elephants, tigers, gibbons, snakes, alligators, and any other animals that may be at the facility. Many animals are able to be successfully released back into their natural environments, after receiving care at the facility. This valuable work would not be possible without the involvement of the local community and the assistance of volunteers like our Ten Directions participants.
